Viljans värld. Vätten Viljan.

Vätten Viljan

Vätten Viljan is a small creature of nature that is mostly invisible, but whose home and surroundings you can visit. Viljan lives in a huge oak tree called Engelbrekt. Inside the oak, you can walk on broken glass, discover small miniature worlds and take part in fine things from Viljan's (the museum's) collections.

Take a trip through time!

In Viljan's world, there is room for playfulness, but also for hiding away to read fairy tales and have a cosy time. Here there is a spaceship that travels through time, as well as an anthill that is unlike any other anthill. From the anthill you can ride a slide, and on the inside there is a Stone Age settlement!

Traces from the past and present

Viljan's world is based on the Östragötland landscape, with its nature and culture. Here there are vestiges of both people and animals, from past and present, including several real ancient objects. Playing with proportions and perspective is an exciting way to see the world anew, and in Viljan's world things that are usually small can become large and vice versa.

Gathering treasure

Viljan collects things that people have lost or thrown away in nature. She thinks everything from carbon paper to porcelain cups are real treasures and finds ways to put everything to use.

However, Viljan has no real grasp of historical chronology and therefore mixes things from different centuries and places at will.
