Modernism 1900-tal
1900s brought major changes. The camera and film were a fact. The cities grew as well as industries. What would the purpose of art be now? Artists searched for new ways to describe the reality and their imagination. Some artists chose to portray emotions, others tried to paint completely non-representational. Some of the newly founded -isms during the early 1900s were Cubism, expressionism, fauvism and surrealism.
