Barock 16-1700-tal
The baroque era stretched into the 1700s. To have a portrait done was an option reserved for the rich. The beauty ideals of the time is evident in the paintings, with long hair and lace on both men and women. Faces were depicted in pale colours to connote that you did not have to work outdoors.
